Macchiato


Caramel Macchiato

  • 3/4 cup scalded milk
  • 4 teaspoons Café Francais
  • 4 teaspoons caramel ice cream topping, divided
  • 2 tablespoons thawed whipped topping

Add milk gradually to flavored coffee mix in a mug, stirring until dissolved. Stir in 3 teaspoons caramel topping until well blended. Top with whipped topping and the remaining caramel topping. Serve immediately.

Latte Macchiato

  • 5 parts hot milk
  • 1 or 2 parts of espresso
  • steam milk

Fill a glass with milk and add the espresso over so it does not mix with the milk but stays on top of it to get a nice layer. Top with foam.

Chocolate Macchiato

  • 4 shots espresso (or 1 1/3 cups regular coffee)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup chocolate liqueur
  • whipped cream, recipe follows
  • cocoa powder, for sprinkling

Pour each shot of espresso into a mug. To each mug, add 1/4 cup of the heavy cream and 1/4 cup of the chocolate liqueur. Top each mug with a dollop of whipped cream and a sprinkling of cocoa powder.

Caramel-Cream Macchiato Coffee

  • 1  cup  whipping cream
  • 3  tablespoons  jarred caramel topping
  • 1/2  teaspoon  vanilla extract
  • hot brewed coffee

Beat whipping cream, caramel topping, and vanilla with an electric mixer on low speed until stiff peaks form. Spoon whipped cream into mugs, and pour hot brewed coffee over caramel whipped cream.
