Decaffeinated Coffee Drinks
Decaf Iced Coffee
- 2 teaspoons decaffeinated coffee granules
- 1 tablespoon hot water
- 1 cup reduced-fat milk
- 1-2 teaspoons sugar
- 3 tablespoons (60ml) low-fat vanilla ice-cream
Combine 2 teaspoons decaffeinated coffee granules and 1 tablespoon hot water in a bowl and mix until dissolved. Place the coffee mixture, 1 cup reduced-fat milk, 1-2 teaspoons sugar and 3 tablespoons (60ml) low-fat vanilla ice-cream in a blender. Blend for 30 seconds or until thick. Pour over ice cubes in a glass and top with an extra 1 tablespoon of ice-cream.
Decaf Chai
- 4 decaffeinated black tea teabags
- 4 cups boiling water
- 2 cups milk
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons caster sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cardamom
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
Place teabags in a heatproof jug. Pour over boiling water. Brew tea for 10 minutes. Discard teabags. Meanwhile, pour milk into medium-low heat in a saucepan. Add remaining ingredients and place over medium-low heat. Slowly bring to a simmer, stirring to melt honey and dissolve sugar. Remove from heat. Pour into tea jug. Stir to combine. Serve.
Decaf Caramel Coffee
- 6 tablespoons decaffeinated coffee, any variety
- 1/2 cup caramel ice cream topping
- 4-1/2 cups cold water
Place coffee in the coffee maker. Place topping in the empty pot of the coffee maker. Brew the coffee over the topping. When brewing is complete, stir until well blended.
Lemon Viennese Coffee
- 6 tablespoons ground decaffeinated coffee
- 1 tablespoons grated lemon peel
- 1/3 cup honey
- 4-1/2 cups cold water
- 6 tablespoons thawed whipped topping
Add 1 tablespoons grated lemon peel to coffee grounds before brewing. Put the honey into the empty pot of coffee maker. Brew the coffee. When brewing is complete, stir until well blended. Top each serving with 1 tablespoons of the whipped topping. Use a cinnamon stick as a stirrer in each cup of coffee.
Toffee Coffee
- 6 tablespoons decaffeinated coffee
- 1/3 cup caramel ice cream topping
- 1/3 cup chocolate syrup
- 4-1/2 cups cold water
- 1/3 cup thawed whipped topping
Place toppings in the empty pot of coffee maker. Brew the coffee. When brewing is complete, stir until well blended. Pour into 5 coffee mugs. Top evenly with whipped topping. For extra flavor sprinkle ground nutmeg lightly over whipped topping.
Maple Cinnamon Coffee
- 6 tablespoons ground decaffeinated coffee
- 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup maple-flavored or pancake syrup
- 4-1/2 cups cold water
- 6 tablespoons thawed whipped topping
Place coffee in the coffee maker, sprinkle with cinnamon. Put syrup into the empty pot of coffee maker. Brew the coffee. When brewing is complete, stir until well blended. Top each serving with 1 tablespoons of the whipped topping.
Lemon Viennese Coffee
- 6 tablespoons decaffeinated coffee
- 1 tablespoons grated lemon zest
- 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1/3 cup honey
- 4-1/2 cups water
Place coffee grounds, lemon peel and cinnamon in the coffee maker. Place honey in the empty pot of coffee maker. Brew the coffee. When brewing is complete, stir until well blended. If you want you can substitute ground ginger for the cinnamon or firmly packed brown sugar for the honey.
